| Disability SystemDisability Assistant is a tool that gives the ability to initiate applications for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits and to case manage the applications through the certification process as well as denied cases through the appeals process up to the hearing level. Disability Assistant primarily handles the following: SSI (no application yet submitted), SSI (already applied), prior Medicaid, and deceased Medicaid. Business Process DrivenThe tool is task oriented. It is structured so the business process workflow can be divided into stages and actions. A stage is a group of actions that typically constitute the units of assignment. The automatic assignment system passes the case from stage to stage and staff person to staff person. The user has control over the stages, actions and assignment definition. Seamless Integration is KeyTo maximize the effectiveness of the tool while minimizing keystrokes, it is imperative to integrate the application with both TPASS and hospital information system(s). Thus, the system will read data from the census every morning, select the new self pays, create the case and distribute it to staff via the assignment rules. A seamless integration will account for every single patient and no one will "slip between the cracks" when transferring a case from worker to worker. Forms and Other FeaturesDisability Assistant can populate about 40 forms, connects to a PDF of the Blue Book, scans and manages scanned documents, and does Medicaid inquiry on both a batch and ad hoc basis. The financial eligibility evaluation is limited to a terse screening tool. Reporting is integrated in the front end and the user can define reports. The reporting capability is built to match the individual product implementation since each provider's business process workflow is unique. Disability Assistant Merely a Single DeploymentThe architecture employed by Disability Assistant can be readily utilized on other business processes to build tools to manage the unique workflow of those respective processes.
